Bend Stiffener Connector

Patented, compact, and API accredited by an independent Third Party, our Bend Stiffener Connector (BSC) enables fast, reliable installation with uninterrupted flexible pull-through. Designed for full reversibility, it requires no diver or ROV intervention and supports multiple planned connections and disconnections.

Speak to Our Engineers

Engineered. Tested. Proven.

Built for strength, validated under real-world conditions.

Each Bend Stiffener Connector is engineered with forged components to ensure maximum strength and fatigue resistance. During production, every unit undergoes a rigorous qualification process supported by an independent third-party Technology Qualification Plan (TQP). Testing is carried out in our dedicated facility, equipped with load and misaligned dynamic test rigs capable of simulating installation and disconnection under load, with variable winch and flexible tensions and angles. Coating systems are to NORSOK standards and cathodic protection to DNV design codes, ensuring long-term durability in harsh subsea environments. This combination of precision manufacturing and robust validation guarantees reliability, repeatability, and performance in the field.

With over 50 years of BSC design and delivery experience, our team ensures clients receive transparent, reliable project support from enquiry through to delivery. Every unit is engineered for performance, safety, and long-term reliability in demanding subsea environments.

FAQs

Learn More About the BSC

Does the Bend Stiffener Connector require subsea intervention for installation or disconnection?

No — the design is fully reversible and allows for multiple planned connections and disconnections without the need for divers or ROVs. Installation is completed with a single winch action, ensuring both speed and safety.

Can the BSC be adapted for different cable or riser diameters?

Yes — each Bend Stiffener Connector is bespoke-engineered to suit the specific project application. The design can be adapted to accommodate a wide range of flexible diameters, ensuring compatibility across oil & gas, offshore wind, and subsea pipeline projects.

How is product reliability assured?

All units are designed, built and tested to third party accredited methodologies and qualifications. Forged components offer superior strength and fatigue performance and our patented technology ensures reliable and efficient Bend Stiffener and Flexible installation. Approved NORSOK paint systems and cathodic protection to DNV design codes ensures long-term durability in harsh subsea environments.

Can the BSC be used in renewable applications

Yes, the BSC can be used to install Bend Stiffeners and flexibles (Cables / Risers / Umbilicals) in any offshore application, with added functionality from the patented Emergency Disconnection system for Floating Offshore Wind farms
